Streaking Horse At Summerside

After six consecutive days of power-packed racing last week, the horses are set to return to Red Shores' Summerside Raceway on Wednesday night.

The 12-dash card will get underway at 7 p.m.

In Race 11, Paphos has drawn Post 4 for owner-trainer Donald Milligan of Tyne Vally. The 11-year-old Astreos - Lucky Bobbi D gelding heads into the feature race with a three-race win streak on the line. Terry Gallant will drive.

Lucky Encounter has drawn Post 1 and will look to play spoiler for owner Jeff Ferrish. He has been listed as the morning line favourite at 5-2 for trainer Dale Sobey and driver Walter Cheverie. He was a bang-up second-place finisher on Governor's Plate night in 1:55.4.

Keystone Nobility, owned by Kent Livingston, will look to keep her own streak alive in Race 11. The daughter of Western Hanover has only missed one top-three finish during the 2014 campaign. She will score from the outside Post 8. Fresh off a second-place finish in the Lobsterfest Open mares final, trainer Alan Taylor will call on Corey MacPherson to do the driving. Tyber Champ (Post 2), Windemere Eric (Post 3), Ultimate Faith (Post 5), All Out (Post 6) and Lisfinny (Post 7) round out the field.

Marc Campbell, Summerside's leading driver with 32 wins this season, will be in action on Wednesday night. Last week, Campbell won the Basil Whelan Memorial trophy for having the most wins during Governor's Plate week. He has nine drives on Summerside’s Wednesday program.

Three veteran pacers will square off in Race 10. Nine-year-old Flaming Prince has drawn the rail for owners Thane Mann and Justin Campbell. The free-legged pacer will get his regular pilot, Gallant, back in the sulky after having won in 1:56.4 for National Driving Championship finalist Ryan Ellis.

Incredible Mike comes into Race 10 with back-to-back victories for owner Judy Macleod. Cheverie will be back in the bike Wednesday after having stopped the clock in 1:57.3 in his last start.

Ageless wonder Blu Meadow Willie has drawn the dreaded Post 8 for owners Bob and Brenda MacInnis. The 10-year-old son of Drop Off rocked the Summerside oval last Friday when he won in 1:55.3, a new career best. Bob MacInnis will drive.
