Ohio Judge Rules In Favour Of PNG
It has been reported that a judge in Ohio has dismissed a lawsuit that had been filed in order to block Penn National Gaming from transferring its gaming licence for Raceway Park in Toledo to the new Hollywood Gaming at Dayton Raceway.
An article on columbusceo.com explains that Lebanon Raceway’s former owners had filed an administrative appeal against the state racing commission’s decision to allow the licence transfer.
According to the report, the judge ruled that the former racetrack owners have no standing to appeal the decision and cited lack of jurisdiction.
The litigants had taken the position that the transfer was illegal because it violated a law which prohibits two racetracks from existing within 50 miles on one another.
