OHHA Clarifies Signal Situation
This morning, Trot Insider received a copy of an open letter from the Ontario Harness Horse Association
adding clarification to the signal situation between the Monticello Harness Horsemen's Association, Monticello Raceway and the Woodbine Entertainment Group.

To Whom it May Concern:
For those of you who read on the Standardbred Canada website that the Monticello Harness Horsemen's Association has refused the Woodbine Entertainment signal into Monticello Raceway, I want to explain the situation.
OHHA never asked for the signal to be turned off. The horsemen's association took this initiative on its own. In fact, I sent a letter to all horsemen's associations on January 16, 2009, and specified that all we were asking for was a letter of support. Contrary to Mr. Schwartz' comments, OHHA never sent a letter thanking him for taking this action.
I have contacted WEG and clarified the situation with both Mr. Nick Eaves and Mr. Jamie Martin. I have also asked Mr. Schwartz to restore the signal at Monticello Raceway. I am hopeful that the signal will be allowed back into Monticello in the near future.
I wonder which side of the
I wonder which side of the table Mr O'Donnell will sit on when WEG decides to meet with him. (B.T.W. BILL YOU SHOULD BE ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE) But no rush the contract only expired December 31st, 2008 and horseman's rights should not be a priority for WEG, whenever you get the time...nice display of respect for the O.H.H.A.
Thank you Monticello H.H.A. for showing some backbone and support.

If anyone can bring
If anyone can bring credibility to OHHA it is Bill O'Donnell. I wish him luck in a tough situation. Let's hope for a little 'Magic' from the Magic Man.
