Eat Me Up Cruises At Grand River
OSS graduate Eat Me Up was long overdue for a victory, and she finally broke through with an impressive score in Monday’s $10,000 Fillies & Mares Preferred 2 Handicap at Grand River Raceway.
With Trevor Henry at the controls, Eat Me Up got away third from Post 4, but she hustled to the lead as the field headed to the half. She led the group to the mid-way point in :56.3 and she was still in command of the tempo at the three-quarter marker in 1:26.1. She kicked home in :28.4 to win by a length over Russian Kisses in 1:55. Twin B Roxy took home the show dough in the nine-mare affair.
David Ratchford owns the five-year-old daughter of Mach Three-Presidentialintern, who is now 1-for-21 this season. The 14-time winner boasts career earnings of $343,594.
