Kawartha Downs Ready To Race
Kawartha Downs will kick off its 2014 live racing season tomorrow night (Saturday, June 21) with a 7 p.m. first-race post time.
Patrons will receive free programs and a soft drink or water while they last.
The track will be collecting donations for a former Kawartha horseman, Bill Davis, who lost his entire stable including horses and equipment, in a barn fire earlier this month in B.C. Davis, a Peterborough native, began his successful career at Kawartha Downs. Contributions will be accepted in the paddock and at the front entrance to the facility.
A solid card of 10 races will help Kawartha’s fans, horsepeople and staff welcome in summer and an exciting season of racing at the Fraserville, Ont. five-eighths mile oval.
The track is scheduled to operate every Saturday evening from June 21 to October 25 (with the exception of September 20).
