Clic K Pockets Grand River Preferred
Returning to the track after a month-long layoff, Clic K converted a perfect pocket trip into a season's best 1:55.1 triumph in Grand River Raceway's featured $11,000 Preferred 2 Pace on Wednesday, June 11.
After following Boknows Momngranny through panels of :28.2, :57.4 and 1:26.3, the Trevor Henry-driven Clic K launched his attack in the stretch and came on to score his 30th career victory. My Friend Diaz closed well from the backfield to finish less than a length behind in second while the pacesetter settled for third. Clic K paid $14.20 for the mild 6-1 upset.
The Ben Wallace trainee was also a winner last time out in Western Fair Raceway's Preferred 3 class on May 12. He now has two wins in 12 starts during his six-year-old campaign. Brad Grant owns the chestnut son of Shanghai Phil, who has banked $317,379 in his career.
The victory aboard Clic K was the first of three in a row for Henry. Scott Coulter also had a driving triple on the 12-race card.
Peter Christie's homebred pacer Jetas Fly ($15.30) earned his first victory since a seven-win campaign in 2012 as he captured the $7,000 Preferred 3 in 1:57.1 with Doug McNair driving.
