‘Typhoon’ Is A Feel-Good Story In N.B.

Early on the 2014 New Brunswick harness racing season, it appears that Marshall and Barbara Goodwin made a wise choice in their acquisition of veteran pacer Nucoz Typhoon.

Bred in the province by Chester Eatmon, the Goodwin's purchased Nucoz Typhoon and so far he is two for two after another win on Saturday afternoon at Exhibition Park.

On May 31, Barb Goodwin celebrated her first lifetime win in the company of a group of supporters and the cheers were rampant in the barn area. She was back in the winner’s circle this past weekend in Saint John.

Mark Haig, who is on fire this season in New Brunswick, has been at the helm of both the pacer’s wins, in 2:02 and 2:03.2, respectively.

By Cams Magic, the eight-year-old has certainly found a great partner in Haig. They have scored five wins as a tandem in the last two years, which is the number of victories the horse has had during that time.

He sports a lifetime mark of 1:59.3, taken over his half-mile home track of Fredericton.

Barb is a first-time trainer and with this early success, it's one of those early feel good stories of 2014 in New Brunswick.
