Henry Sweeps Western Fair Preferreds
Western Fair Raceway's leading driver Trevor Henry won both of the Preferred 3 pacing events on Wednesday night's harness racing card in London, Ont.
Henry steered favourites Rock N Go and Rave On to victories in the $7,000 co-features for horses and geldings.
Rock N Go ($3.40) was a wire-to-wire winner in 1:56.3, drawing away by seven lengths down the stretch. Bestofthebunch was second-best tonight for driver Nick Steward while Czar Seelster and Brad Forward finished third.
Claimed for $25,000 on April 3 at Woodbine Racetrack, the four-year-old Rocknroll Hanover-Goa Girl gelding picked up his first win for his new connections, Dan and Leona Morrissey of Ailsa Craig, Ont.
He's earned four of his eight career wins in 2014.
Rave On ($3.30) advanced first over after getting away fifth and eventually wore down Kendal Fresco and Lorne House to win the fastest race of the night, clocked in 1:55.1, by a quarter-length. Stoney Durkin and Bruce Richardson rounded out the top three finishers.
The eight-year-old Art Major-Gone Dancing gelding has won two of his last three starts since being claimed on May 3 at Woodbine for $12,000 by Debbie Element of Waterdown, Ont. and joining the Corey Johnson stable.
Wednesday's win was the seventh in 20 starts this year and 25th lifetime for the $300,000-plus earner.
