Trustworthy Kid Equals Meadows Record
Trustworthy Kid stalked Daylon Miracle from the pocket, then brushed by in the Lightning Lane to capture Wednesday’s $18,000 Preferred Handicap Trot at The Meadows in 1:52.4, matching the track record for older geldings.
The only mare in the field, Daylon Miracle cut out a fast three-quarters in 1:24.2, but yielded when attacked outside by Tamarind and inside by Trustworthy Kid. Urged on by Brian Zendt, Trustworthy Kid downed Tamarind by a neck to equal the mark shared by Big And Little and No Doze. Although Big And Little saw his record matched, he rallied to finish third.
Walter “Boots” Dunn trains Trustworthy Kid, a five-year-old son of SJs Caviar-Penn Worthy Lane who extended his career bankroll to $210,436, for Dunn Stable.
Wilbur Yoder drove three winners on the 15-race card.
Thursday’s program at The Meadows features three divisions of a $60,000 Pennsylvania Stallions Series stake for three-year-old colt and gelding trotters. First post is 12:55 p.m.
