Big And Little Comes Up Large; Wilder Wins Five
Big And Little powered to the lead past the quarter but had to dig in late to preserve his victory in Tuesday’s $15,000 Winners Over $10,000 Life Handicap Trot at The Meadows.
Once he assumed the lead for Wilbur Yoder, Big And Little was strong enough to repel the challengers outside. However, he needed plenty of determination to hold off the late charge of Call To Post, who erased all but a nose of a 4-1/2-length deficit in the Lightning Lane. Therapeutic earned show in Tuesday’s feature, which went in 1:54.1.
Bill Zendt trains Big And Little, a six-year-old SJs Caviar-Penn Peachi Lane gelding who extended his career bankroll to $275,126, for owner/breeder Gary Saul.
Mike Wilder drove five winners on the 14-race card.
