'Bestofbest' Goes Back-To-Back

Bestofbest Hanover earned his second straight victory in Rideau Carleton Raceway's $6,500 Winners Over Handicap Pace, posting a win margin just short of double digits on Sunday night.

Owned and driven by Melanie Plourde, Bestofbest Hanover ($2.60) advanced to the lead from third near the third quarter mark and used a :28-second final kicker to widen his leading margin to nine and a half lengths. The favourite's dominate victory was clocked in 1:52.3. If I Remember and Be Calm Hanover, the two longest shots on the board, were the best of the rest.

Gabriel Boily trains Bestofbest Hanover (Western Hanover-Bunny Lake), a winner of 19 races with a sub-1:49 mark and over $500,000 in purses. The victory was the six-year-old pacer's third and fastest in seven starts this year.

Plourde and Boily also won the previous race with pacing mare April Bandit.
