Trotting Fillies Impress In PASS
Three divisions of Pennsylvania Sire Stakes races featuring three-year-old filly trotters were contested Thursday afternoon at Harrah's Philadelphia.
The first division went to Katz and Libfeld's Designed To Be. The daughter of Donato Hanover quarter-pole moved past early leader Global Magic and never looked back. She went on to trot the mile in 1:55 for trainer Julie Miller and driver Brian Sears. Designed To Be notched her fifth career victory out of nine starts and she pushed her career earnings over the $300,000 mark.
The second division was conquered by five-time winner Steppin Out. She grabbed the early pocket spot, pulling before the half and holding steady over a closing Explosive Victory in 1:57.2. Steppin Out is a daughter of Yankee Glide out of the Andover Hall mare Quantum Darling. She is owned by Glat Kosher Racing and trained by Chas Norris.
The third division was won in a thrilling stretch duel by Harley Momma. Harley Momma came up the open stretch to outnod favourite Take The Money in the final strides in a time of 1:54.2.
