Continual Velocity Tops Philly Mares
Post eight was not a problem for veteran pacing mare Continual Velocity as she used her early speed to win Friday's featured event at Harrah's Philadelphia, a winners over $25,000 lifetime pace for fillies and mares.
Driven by Yannick Gingras, Continual Velocity took the lead just past the quarter and narrowly held off race favourite Show Runner in the final strides. Show Runner was the 1-2 favourite at post time.
Continual Velocity is a six-year-old out of Real Artist and the Camtastic mare, Extreme Velocity. She is owned by Weaver Bruscemi and Burke Racing and trained by Ron Burke. She paced the mile in 1:51 flat.
