Blossom Series sweeper Rock N Roll Xample carried her winning momentum into the first leg of the Princess Series on Friday night at Woodbine Racetrack.

After wrapping up the three-leg Blossom Series on April 11, Rock N Roll Xample returned to Woodbine and earned her fourth straight victory in the $20,000 first round of the Princess for trainer Shawn Robinson and owner/breeder Robert Hamather of Exeter, Ont.

Driver James MacDonald settled the favoured Rocknroll Hanover-R Xample filly away fourth while Itsa Surprise Tome (Anthony MacDonald) worked her way to the top over Take That Hanover (Mike Saftic) during a :27.2 opening quarter.

However, Take That Hanover retook the lead down the backstretch with Rock N Roll Xample following up on the outside and edging by at the :57-second half-mile mark.

Rock N Roll Xample led the field by three-quarters in 1:26.3 with second choice Artful Impulse (Randy Waples) advancing first over and 73-1 longshot Windsong Khloe (Chris Christoforou) following her cover. But the streaking filly drew away from the field into the stretch to score a five length victory in 1:55.1 over the 'good' track, which was rated two seconds off.

Rock N Roll Xample paid $3 to win as the overwhelming 1-2 favourite. Take That Hanover finished second while Windsong Khloe edged out Artful Impulse for third over eight lengths behind.

The lightly raced filly has now banked $87,050 in purses so far this while earning eight wins, two seconds and one third-place finish in 13 starts.

The Princess Series, for three-year-old pacing fillies that are non-winners of $100,000 in 2013, will continue next Friday, May 2 at Woodbine and wrap up on Saturday, May 10 with a $50,000 (added) final.
