Steppin Out Repeats In Meadows Series
Sitting fifth at the half, Steppin Out launched a relentless uncovered move that carried her to her second straight series victory in Wednesday’s Unefoisdansmavie Trot at The Meadows.
Call Me A Winner and Glide By Shooting also took $17,500, second leg divisions in the event for three-year-old filly trotters. The series championship is set for Wednesday, April 23.
Steppin Out trailed by six lengths before Dan Rawlings sent her after the leader, Hierarchy. The daughter of Yankee Glide-Quantum Darling put that one away and rolled to victory in 1:58.3, three lengths better than the pocket-sitting Glams K. Ideal Emma finished third. Chas Norris trains Steppin Out for Glat Kosher Racing.
In the $20,000 Filly & Mare Winners Over $10,000 Life/Preferred Handicap Trot, Magic Wheel endured a demanding :27.4 opening panel and held off the stalking Mistress Valentine to defeat her by a neck in 1:54.3. Unefoisdansmavie rallied for show. Tony Hall piloted the six-year-old daughter of Kadabra-Ws Balanced Wheel, who now boasts $543,958 in career earnings, for trainer Kris Hite and owner Tom Svrcek.
Dave Palone drove four winners and Dan Rawlings three on the 15-race card.
