ORC Rules On Bertrand Appeal

On Thursday, March 20, the Ontario Racing Commission issued its ruling in regard to the appeal of Robert Bertrand.

Bertrand was appealing a ruling by the ORC – a ‘Notice of Proposed Order’ – to refuse to issue him a license. The move by the ORC rendered Bertrand ineligible to licenced as an association official.

The ORC denied Bertrand’s appeal.

It is disturbing that their were no checks and balances in place during the conducting of the clerk of the scales job functions in that no security/stewards were present to double check /review his activities, 20 years of employment flushed down the drain, with more questions than answers from the conduct of the management, gifting has occurred for decades in the racing industry why limit it over $150 to report, receiving cash or goods/services should have a zero$/ tolerance to protect the integrity/ rights for the betting public.
