Feelin Flush Wins Another Mares Open

Travis Cullen's claimer to Open pacing sensation Feelin Flush captured her fifth edition of the $9,000 Fillies & Mares Open Pace this year on Friday night at Northlands Park.

With Canada's 2013 Future Rising Star Award winner in the sulky, Feelin Flush ($5.10) raced along in third position through fractions of :28.1, :57.1 and 1:25.3. Cullen tipped her to the outside near that third quarter mark and she sprinted the final panel in :28.3 to score by two lengths in 1:54.3. Clearly Best followed the winner's cover and edged out pacesetter Blue Star Beauty and pocket-sitter Keystone Maddie for the runner-up honours.

Feelin Flush, who has not missed a paycheque in seven starts this year, has earned $23,414 in purses. The win was her 26th lifetime and boosted her career bankroll to $190,438.

The six-year-old Alberta-sired mare by As Promised is co-owned by Cullen and Manitoba partner Ken Hanson.
