Optimism For Nebraska Instant Racing
It has been reported that a measure which would see the legalization of Instant Racing in Nebraska took another step forward this week.
As a report by omaha.com explains that on Wednesday (March 5) lawmakers voted 25-18 in favour of pushing the measure to a third round of consideration
Legislative Resolution 41CA calls for an amendment to the Nebraska Constitution that would legalize gambling at video terminals – ‘Instant Racing’ or ‘Historical Racing’ machines – airing previously-run horse races.
The article states that supporters of the resolution need 30 votes in order to put the measure before voters this coming November. The report also states that a filibuster at the third round of consideration could delay the resolution.
The resolution calls for Instant Racing terminals to be installed at licenced racetracks in the state.
