Entries Due for Bedrock Qualifiers

Alberta's Bedrock Training Centre is gearing up to host more official qualifying races next week in preparation for the Northlands Park meet, and horsepeople should take note that entries are due.

A total of four sessions have been scheduled for September 17, 18, 24 and 25 at the Beaumont, AB, training centre, and priority will be given to two-year-olds that are ready to qualify.

The qualifying sessions over the five-eighths mile training oval will begin at 1:00 p.m. on each of the outlines dates, and entries can be submitted by contacting Grande Prairie race secretary Jackson Wittup at (780) 814-7627 or by fax at (780) 402-7103.

Horses other than two-year-olds will be given the opportunity to qualify in the available time and available races remaining over the four outlined dates.

The qualifiers at the Bedrock Training Centre are to take place for horses that will not be able to be qualified at Grande Prairie.

All normal requirements for qualifying races must be met as follows:

* Horses must be freeze branded

* A current coggins test must be available

* 2007 eligibility fee must be paid

* All owners must be members in good standing with Horse Racing Alberta and Standardbred Canada

SC Field Rep Shelley Gray will be available all four days at the Bedrock Training Centre to conduct regular business for all horsemen, as well as posting the results to Standardbred Canada's system.
