Northfield F&M Open To Y Mach Me
A three-wide move by Y Mach Me turned out to be the winning move for the mare who powered away from the competition en route to an impressive score in Thursday’s $9,000 Fillies & Mares Open at Northfield Park.
Ronnie Wrenn, Jr. got away fourth with Y Mach Me while Special Lady D and Eradikate took turns on the lead through first-half fractions of :28.2 and :59.1. Wrenn and Y Mach Me caught cover going to the half, and they were three-wide and rolling as the field sped past the three-quarter pole in 1:29.2. A :28.2 closing quarter helped propel Y Mach Me to a two-length triumph over Canaco Star in 1:57.4. Shes Glorious was a distant third.
Pat Karcher trains the six-year-old daughter of Mach Three-Sunnie Corleone for Lucky Draw Racing Stable of Carey, Ohio. It was the mare’s second win of the season and the lion’s share of the loot lifted her lifetime earnings to $49,669.
