Firefighters Pull Horses From Pond
Fort Erie fire fighters sprung into action on Monday (Feb. 17) when they were called to a property in Stevensville, Ont. to save a pair of horses that had broken through ice and into a pond.
As a report by CTV News explains, when the firefighters arrived they found two horses, both four years of age, in the pond.
The article has quoted the horses’ owners, Julie Ayers, as saying that the horses were “frolicking in the pasture and they got too close to the pond – I guess it’s not as frozen as we thought it was going to be.”
The report states that the firefighters were able to get the horses out. Neither of the horses suffered from hypothermia and both are expected to make a full recovery.
