Campbell Bags Three At CDP
Trainer/driver Marc Campbell wrapped up the current meet at Charlottetown Driving Park on a high note when he scored three wins during the 14-race Saturday afternoon program
.
Pleasesfoolishsun romped to an 11-length victory in the fifth stopping the clock in 2:01.3 while Sarah Catherine gave Campbell a double in the following dash winning in 2:04. The resident of Orwell, P.E.I was back in the winner’s circle after Stracor prevailed in 2:02.4 in Race 12 for the second time in just four outings since joining Campbell’s barn.
The 24-year-old horseman has sent five winners postward this year and a total of 64 in his career earning nearly $140,000 in purses.
Just one race after Campbell concluded his hat trick, Negrito, owned by Kenneth Ramsay, David MacMurdo and Kenneth Graham of Kensington, won the Saturday afternoon feature in 1:59. Gary Chappell was in the bike for the victory. Pans O Silver was second for Brian MacPhee and owner Alex MacPhee of Cornwall, while Porthill Alf completed the triactor for driver Duane MacEachern and owner Marvyn Webster of Kensington.
