One of 2013's fastest two-year-olds, So Surreal p,2,1:49.4 has been retired and will stand stud in 2014.

So Surreal (Somebeachsomewhere–Must See) suffered a broken coffin bone while preparing for the Governor’s Cup. He is the second fastest two-year-old of 2013, winning an International Stallion Stake division at the Red Mile in 1:49.4.

So Surreal debuted at the Meadowlands on June 1 and won his first freshman race in 1:55.4, pacing his own last quarter in :26. Next he won at the Meadowlands in 1:55, again with a last quarter in :26 and change. So Surreal then ventured to Pennsylvania and won two Sire Stake events, in 1:53.1 and 1:53.3. He was also second in the Bluegrass (defeating the fastest two-year-old of 2013, Somestarsomewhere) and third in his Breeders Crown elimination before his unfortunate accident.

He becomes the first son of Somebeachsomewhere to stand at stud and retires with just shy of $100,000 earned this year as a two-year-old.

So Surreal’s mother is Must See p,2,1:52 ($487,122), making him a half-brother to Well Said, and he was a $125,000 yearling.

Cameo Hills Farm has purchased So Surreal and will stand him stud in 2014. The farm has committed 12 of their best mares to So Surreal, including Sweetheart winner Pedigree Snob, Donkeys Can Talk (a sister to Put On A Show), $750,000 winner Please Me Please, $465,000 winner Under Your Spell and several others.

His service fee for 2014 will be $2,500 payable upon live foal.
