Keystone Orion Wires Preferred Foes
Dave Boughton went to the front with Keystone Orion in Thursday’s $6,500 Preferred 3 Trot at Flamboro Downs, and Dave Boughton didn’t look back with the OSS graduate.
Keystone Orion blasted to the lead from Post 2 and whacked out panels of :28.3, :58.1 and 1:28.3 before using a :29.3 closing quarter to fend of the pocket-sitting Kashs Caviar by a nose in 1:58.1. Race favourite Lexus Helios was a lapped-on third in the eight-horse affair.
Don Lindsey of Fergus, Ontario owns and trains the four-year-old son of Angus Hall-Ozone Hanover, who won OSS Gold Series Finals over Flamboro Downs’ half-mile oval at ages two and three. The nine-time winner has banked just shy of $280,000 to date.
