Season's Greetings Valued Members
Tis the season for extending warm regards to friends, family and strangers alike. On behalf of the Board of Directors of Standardbred Canada, I would like to wish everyone the best of the season.
For many regions, racing has slowed or finished all together. Despite the challenges facing the standardbred industry, we still have a lot to be thankful for. This time of year often leads to reflection on the year that has passed. For Standardbred Canada, it has been a year of focus and hard work. I think it is without saying, our staff are one key component that makes our association so effective.
There continues to be a great deal of apprehension in the industry, as jurisdictions coast to coast continue to wait for concrete news from the engine that drives racing in Canada, that being Ontario. The uncertainty is frustrating for all directly involved and for all areas who rely on the success of Ontario racing. Despite this, I remain hopeful of something, anything positive happening.
Very soon, there will be a new board elected. To those members running, best of luck! To those who have been acclaimed, congratulations.
On behalf of my family, and the family of Standardbred Canada, I extend the best of the yuletide season, and best wishes for a healthy, happy, successful 2014.
