Update On Walter ‘Boots’ Dunn
USTA Director and longtime horseman Walter ‘Boots’ Dunn, 83, has endured a complication from a broken leg incurred while training a yearling in December 2012 and is back in a cast.
Dunn had a rod surgically inserted to stabilize the leg after that break and complications with the rod have forced him to be placed in an upper leg cast, with an anticipation of an eight-week recuperation period.
Dunn’s daughter, Kathy Dunn Harvey, reports that he is able to safely transition out of bed without bearing weight on the affected leg and can use a motorized scooter to get around.
Get-well cards are welcome at P.O. Box 8, Cochranton, PA 16314.
