I Aint No Fool Repeats At Dover
For the second consecutive week and third time during the meet, I Aint No Fool won the $26,000 Open Pace on Monday at Dover Downs.
In a carbon copy performance, I Aint No Fool, and this week from Post 8, took the lead at the start and cut out all the fractions for a 1:51.2 victory. Tim Tetrick was in the bike for trainer Kevin Lare and owners Tom Lazzaro and Harness The Power. JK Lullabye and Ron Pierce took a shot at the leader in the stretch to no avail. Cool Cal with Jon Roberts finished third.
An altered son of The Panderosa – Fool That I Am, I Aint No Fool has won $27,300 in three starts this year and $291,547 lifetime.
Tim Tetrick moved Arty Foster's Devils Ivy to the outside in front of the grandstand and raced alongside leader Brain P (Brandon Givens) until the top of the stretch before pulling away for a 1:53 score in a $22,000 Winners-Over Pace. The win was the first of 2009 for the Camluck – Idylwood Legion gelding. Truly Chris (George Dennis) closed strongly for second. Floyd Bromac N (Justin Hite) was third.
Caerleon Hanover continues his ascent, scoring a 1:52.3 triumph in the first of two $22,000 Winners-Over Paces. Claimed in early December for $30,000 by Max Walton and Greg Papaleo, the Western Ideal – Carmellos gelding recorded his fourth win in a row as Ron Pierce drove the front-stepping win. Fields Of Honour A (Brian Sears) finished second with The Midnight Owl N (Jon Roberts) taking show honours.
