Horse Brings Trainer To Her Funeral

A horse trainer had one of her final wishes granted last week when one of her pupils pulled a horse-drawn carriage during her own funeral procession.

An article by the Daily Echo explains that Beverly McDonnell, a lifelong horse enthusiast that recently passed away at age 32 due to cancer, was brought to her own funeral by one of her horses, ‘Blacky.’

The report states that McDonnell, who trained show horses, had requested that Blacky pull the carriage containing her coffin to her funeral.

The article explains that McDonnell was devastated when doctors told her she had to quit horseback riding due to the stress it would put on her bones. In turn, she bought a carriage and offered horse-drawn rides on the beach with all proceeds going to charity.
