Former Freehold Raceway Publicity Director Briane J. McLoone, 70, of Sea Bright, New Jersey, passed away peacefully, after a brief illness, on November 8, 2013.

Services will be private on Tuesday, November 12, at Thompson Memorial Home, 310 Broad St,. Red Bank, NJ.

Briane was born in Brooklyn, NY to Joe and Marie McLoone and was raised in South Orange, NJ, where he attended Our Lady of Sorrows Grammar School and Seton Hall Preparatory School. He then went on to graduate from the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University.

He spent most of his working life doing publicity and marketing for Freehold Raceway.

In recent years, he worked at the family restaurant business. He had a sharp wit and was a keen observer of the national political scene. His two great passions, aside from family, were golf and photography.

He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Marie McLoone, and his son, Stephen.

Briane is survived by his son, Joseph and wife, Elena, of London, England, and their daughter, Cassandra; his daughter, Jillian Manno and her husband, Steffan, and their children, Frank, Yasmine, Sasha, Maceo, and Paolo; and his brother, Tim and wife, Beth, and their children, Molly, Jack, Connor, and Hannah. He is also survived by his former wife, Gael Finan.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Eastern Christian Retreat, which took such loving care of his son, Stephen. Their address is 700 Mountain Ave., Wyckoff, N.J. 07481.
