SC Announces 2009 Standardbred Wagering Conference
Standardbred Canada is pleased to announce that it will host the 2009 Standardbred Wagering Conference at Caesars Windsor from
April 28 – 30, 2009.
In April of last year, SC hosted the first-ever Standardbred Wagering Conference at the Palais des Congress in Montreal. Over 100 industry officials attended the event.
The 2009 conference, to be held again in conjunction with the Canadian Gaming Summit, will focus exclusively on Standardbred wagering and the theme for the conference will be 'driving innovation.'
“Strong attendance and participation from the industry combined to make the inaugural Wagering Conference a very successful event,” said Ted Smith, president of Standardbred Canada. “As a result of that conference SC has taken a leadership role and developed a Wagering Action Plan that encompasses several wagering initiatives that are being developed. This conference will provide an opportunity for SC to update the industry on the Wagering Action Plan and work on the future of horse race wagering as a unified group.”
With this year’s conference being held in Windsor, on the Canada-U.S. border, the conference will have more of a North American focus, with the hopes of attracting stakeholders from across the continent.
The conference kicks off with a full day of sessions on Tuesday, April 28, and continues for a half day on Wednesday, April 29 with industry meetings in the afternoon. Major evening events will also be scheduled and included. Delegates who register for a full summit/conference package can also attend the final day of the Canadian Gaming Summit on Thursday, April 30.
SC is working with Media Edge Communications, the organizers of the Canadian Gaming Summit to put together a first class agenda featuring a slate of speakers that will bring horse racing and gaming industry stakeholders together to share ideas, insights and continue to develop a plan for the future.
Standardbred Canada is currently working on co-ordinating the agenda and seeks input from horseplayers, customers, and stakeholders.
