'Muzzy' Back In St. John's Spotlight
A winner three weeks ago, Muzzysenglishbaby returned to victory lane on Sunday, taking the Preferred Pace at St. John's Racing and Entertainment Centre after settling for runner-up honours in his last two outings.
Muzzysenglishbaby retook the lead from Quickcam in the stretch to win this week's top class by one length in 2:04 over a sloppy track rated two seconds off. Quickcam stayed for second and last week's Preferred winner, Inspired Art, finished nearly two lengths behind in third.
Dennis Lambert Jr. was in the driver's seat for the seven-year-old Largo gelding's 13th career win.
Local horseman Jim Byrne owns and trains Muzzysenglishbaby, who has earned top three finishes in all nine of his starts this year.
