Cimeronken Repeats At Grand River
Denise Anderson's homebred trotter Cimeronken posted his second straight wire-to-wire victory in the $7,000 Preferred 3 at Grand River Raceway on Wednesday evening.
Teaming up with Billy Davis Jr. for this outing, the four-year-old son of Ken Warkentin left from post three and carved out fractions of :27.4, :59 and 1:28.4 before holding off late-closers Here Comes Numbers, at 40-1, and 6-1 shot Hamdalla. The front-stepping 5-2 favourite prevailed by half a length in 1:59.1 and returned $7 to his backers.
Daryl Roberts trains Cimeronken, who has earned six of his eight wins this year.
