Mowod Injured In Training Mishap
Joe Mowod, assistant trainer for Mike Palone, was injured in a training mishap Friday, September 13 at The Meadows.
Mowod was injured when a horse he was working for Palone became caught in its rigging and dumped the horseman to the track.
Mowod, who was conscious and alert following the incident, was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital for observation and treatment.
“Joe was in good spirits and moving around pretty well,” Palone said while driving to the hospital. “Because he was experiencing soreness in his neck, they wanted to fly him to the hospital and do some tests.”
The horse escaped injury.
The Meadows will provide updates as information becomes available.
