Estevez To Film In Ohio
The officials at the Little Brown Jug have learned that actor/director Emilio Estevez will be at the Delaware County Fairgrounds during Jug week to shoot portions of his new motion picture 'Johnny Longshot.'
The full-length harness racing movie will star Estevez who will be playing the lead character, John West, who, after a career as a thoroughbred jockey, turns his sights to standardbred racing.
Estevez, 50, has a long list of film credits including the Mighty Ducks, The Breakfast Club and Young Guns. Estevez is a lifelong fan of horse racing thanks in part to his father, actor Martin Sheen.
"I've been a racing fan my whole life. My dad used to take me to the track when I was a kid, and then I became a fan on my own."
The film is expected to be released in 2014.
This will be the second film shot at the Delaware County Fairgrounds. In 1996 the Harness Racing Hall of Fame and Museum used the Jug as a backdrop for a short film that was used in their facility in Goshen, New York.
