Five For Campbell At CDP
Driver Marc Campbell continues to have the hottest set of hands in PEI thanks in part to his five-win performance Thursday evening at Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
Campbell, the recent winner of the Sobey’s Gold Cup & Saucer at the half-miler, started the night where he left off last Saturday - in the winner’s circle.
Bemused posted a 2:00 score to get the ball rolling for the O’Brien Award winner, who later clicked with King Of The Rock (1:56.3), Zanzibar (1:59), Kaitlyn Rose (1:59.1) and Mach Vegas (1:58).
The feature race went to Artners In Crime and driver Ron Matheson in 1:56.4. Matheson sent the pacer to the front and laid down fractions of :29. :59.1 and 1:28.1. Machinthesand finished strong for second while Roscoes Child was third.
Artners in Crime is owned by Bobbi Jo Gaudet and conditioned by Charlottetown’s leading trainer, Jackie Matheson.
