Training Triple In Alberta For Cullen
A driving double and a training triple translated into a very good day at the office Monday for Travis Cullen at Alberta Downs.
Cullen kicked off the 10-race card with a win behind Da Terror. The four-year-old son of Western Terror, who is owned by Cullen and partner Trevor Williams, rallied to win in 1:55.1. Philip Geisbrecht gave Cullen his second winner on the program thanks to a come-from-behind tally with Phoenician Gal in 1:55.3. Cullen engineered the winning trip for Bob Watts in Race 6. The gelding, who stopped the clock in 1:55.3, got up to win by a nose.
Cullen finds himself in the midst of a career year for both training and driving. His barn has produced a 66 winners while racking up $224,514 in purse earnings – and both of those numbers are personal bests. He’s also set personal bests in the racebike this season thanks to 88 wins and purses in excess of $311,000.
