Veteran teamster Dave Wall enjoyed a big day at Western Fair Raceway on Monday thanks in part to wins with Trottin Troy and Must Be Matt, who posted wins in their respective Preferred assignments at the half-mile oval

Wall guided Trottin Troy to a 2:00.3 victory in the $18,400 Preferred Trot for trainer Steve Bossence. The five-year-old son of Chip Chip Hooray brushed to command past the half and held the competition at bay through the lane. Batalj Launcher was second best and third prize went to Welding Spark D.

The Ohio partnership of Parent Racing Stable LLC and Crystal Ball Stables watched the trotter pick up his second consecutive victory and his third win in his last four starts at the level. The 13-time winner is quickly closing in on $200,000 in lifetime earnings.

Must Be Matt and Wall got up in the final strides to take home weekly bragging rights in the $18,400 Preferred Pace. The seven-year-old son of Barnett Hanover popped out of the pocket in deep stretch to knock off pacesetter Oakley Seelster, who finished second. Cuban Seelster closed from out of the clouds to finish third.

Ross Siddall conditions the 33-time winner for owners Joseph & Beverley Santarossa of Maidstone, ON. Their homebred has banked $413,647 to date.

Wall also scored with Gobro Gramma G in the $15,200 Fillies & Mares Preferred. The Sue Marie Gangell trainee got up in the final strides to stop the teletimer in 1:57.2 en route to defeating pacesetter Dangerous Years, who was second, and third-place finisher Trace Of Luck.

Marlene Good of Goodwood, ON holds the papers on the 12-time winner, who has stashed away $126,560 in her career.
