There was no beating driver Jack Moiseyev in Friday's second leg of the Snowshoe Pacing Series for three and four-year-old colts and geldings at Woodbine Racetrack on Friday as he reined home both divisional winners.

In the opening $20,000 contest, the veteran pilot seized control early with race favourite Herestopatrick and then held on for a hard-fought head decision in 1:54.3. Shiny Mach (Roger Mayotte) turned in a gritty first-over effort to finish second with longshot Power Off (Mike Saftic) a rallying third.

It was the first win in two tries this season for the three-year-old gelded son of Apaches Fame - Sippin Time who is trained by Mark Austin for owner Michael Cecile of Windsor, Ontario. The lion's share of the purse sent him just over $50,000 lifetime.

Moiseyev wasted no time in sending Mighty Me to the front from Post 9 in the second split and the three-year-old gelded son of Western Hanover - Firststariseetonite wired the field in 1:54.

The hard-closing favourite, Carat Hanover (Rick Zeron), had too much work to do as the field turned for home and fell a nose short at the finish. It was another half-length back to Steals A Kiss (Jason Brewer) who rallied stoutly to grab the show spot.

The victory for the Robin Furlong trainee was the fifth in just six career tries and boosted his bankroll to just over $44,000 for owner Mike Wassilyn of Toronto, Ontario.

The $45,000 Snowshoe Series Final will be contested next Friday night at Woodbine.

In other action, Four Starzz Meliss was the victorious miss in the $44,000 Fillies & Mares Open Pace.

Rick Zeron took the eight-year-old daughter of Cambest to the top of the pack from Post 2 and never looked back. The 9-5 second choice carved out fractions of :26.2, :55.1 and 1:23.4. Arts Diva (Mike Saftic) applied heavy pressure heading into the final turn, but Four Starzz Meliss held strong for the 1:51.3 win.

Arts Diva finished one length back and post time favourite Mach You And Me (Paul MacDonell) closed well for third.

Four Starzz Meliss scored her 34th career win and boosted her bankroll to $623,446 for trainer Glenn Lalonde and owners Jennifer Lalonde of Guelph and John Nother of Brampton, Ontario.
