Manraysonjo Takes Fredericton Top Class
Wet was the operative word the last couple of days in New Brunswick with flooding in some areas due to torrential rain on Friday. Saturday though, Horse Racing New Brunswick had things ready to go for the 12-dash program in the capital city at Fredericton Raceway.
By post-time the track was not rated off and maintenance did a great job getting the racing surface in top-top shape.
In the top class, Manraysonjo got back on the winning track in a big way with a decisive 1:57 mile in rein to Lonny Stokes. Dusty Lane Oscar and Wayne Watson finished five lengths behind the pacesetter in second with Dance Hanover and Stephen Trites third.
The 2-1 second choice, who earned three consecutive victories earlier this year in May and June, paid $5.80 to win while favourite American Captain, driven by Mike Campbell, wasn't a threat in fifth.
The eight-year-old son of Rayson Hanover is trained by two-time Saturday winner Brian Embleton for local owner Nancy Green.
