'Block Party' Continues At CDP
Block Party, with Marc Campbell driving, notched her fourth win in a row taking the Thursday night feature pace at Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park in 1:57.1.
Block Party, owned by William, Brian and Blake Andrew and conditioned by Darren Trainor, set fractions of :28.4, :59.1 and 1:29.1 en route to her 18th lifetime win. Camcun was second with Oakrock Almighty completing the triactor for third. Campbell had a driving triple on the night.
JK Queen, under the command of Walter Cheverie, used the passing lane to get up and win the evening’s trot class in 2:01.4. Norman Clarey and Joe Smallwood co-own the trotter who notched her third win of season. It was Cheverie’s second winner of night after guiding Summerville Deb for trainer Gerald Dunn to a second race score.
Nikitas Halo won the Charlottetown Pony Club Pace for Campbell and trainer Paul Gray while Jason Hughes guided Kaitlyn Rose to victory in the Town Of Stratford Pace for owner-trainer Ralph Sweet.
Dianna Santana put in an impressive performance winning by 16 lengths in 1:55.2 Brodie MacPhee was in the bike for trainer Tom MacPhee and owner Doug MacPhee.
Racing returns Saturday in Charlottetown at 6 p.m. and Sunday in Summerside at 1 p.m.
