All Spirit Enjoys More Tioga Success
All Spirit and Jimmy Marohn Jr. enjoyed their continued success in the featured fillies and mares $16,000 Miracle Mile 1 on Friday night at Tioga Downs.
Leaving from post position number one in a field of six, Marohn settled All Spirit in second as Queen Of Royalty (Greg Merton) took the field through an opening quarter in :27.3. As the field passed the stands for the first time, Marohn moved All Spirit to the front and controlled the middle fractions of :55.4 and 1:24. Around the final turn, Queen Of Royalty edged to the outside to offer some pressure to the leader in the stretch, but when Marohn Jr. asked for more All Spirit held tough to win in 1:53. Fair Voltage (Fern Paquet Jr.) had pace late in the mile and stayed along the pylons to finish third.
Judy Lanpher trains the seven-year-old daughter of Bettors Delight and Spirit Of Ivy for Larry Lanpher of Winter Park, Florida. The win was the fourth of the year in nine seasonal outings for All Spirit, with all four wins being recorded at Tioga Downs.
Marohn Jr. and Aaron Byron each posted driving triples on the night’s 11-race card. Greg Merton currently leads in the driver standings with 44 wins, Marohn Jr. sits second with 42, and Byron rounds out the top three with 36.
