Bracken Joins U Of A RTIP

Liz Bracken has joined the University of Arizona’s Race Track Industry Program as associate coordinator and takes up her new position August 12, it was announced today by RTIP director Doug Reed.

Bracken's duties include teaching racing-based coursework as well as the administration and support of the Program and its yearly conference, the Global Symposium on Racing & Gaming.

“Simulcasting and account wagering are now the core of the pari-mutuel system. As a result, the program’s curriculum has greatly expanded its coverage of those topics. Liz’s extensive depth of knowledge in those areas is a tremendous resource for the RTIP and its students,” said Reed. “We look forward to welcoming one of our very successful alumni back to the RTIP.”

"It has been an amazing 16-year journey with NYRA, but I am really looking forward to this new challenge,” said Bracken. “I owe my success in racing to the foundation that the RTIP program gave me, and I look forward to teaching the next generation of racing leaders."

Most recently, Bracken served as vice president of simulcasting and content acquisition with the New York Racing Association where she also held the positions of director of simulcasting and simulcast coordinator. After graduating from the University of Arizona and the Race Track Industry Program and prior to joining NYRA in 1997, she gained experience in a number of racing official positions at Fair Grounds, Rockingham Park, Hialeah Park, Tampa Bay Downs and Suffolk Downs.
