Three-year-old trotting filly Angies Lucky Star etched her name in the history books with a 1:56.1 track record performance in Wednesday's Ontario Sires Stakes Gold Series leg at Grand River Raceway.

Driven by Trevor Henry, the Angus Hall filly matched the sophomore trotting track record established by Sugar Wheeler last October in an OSS Gold elimination.

Henry had the overwhelming 1-9 favourite on the move early and cleared to command past the :28.3 opening quarter in the first of three $70,000 Gold divisions. Angies Lucky Star then carved out middle splits of :57.2 and 1:27.1 before cruising home for the two and a quarter length victory. Seeuinthespring (Anthony MacDonald) and Charmed Life (Paul MacDonell) rallied three-wide from the backfield to come on for second and third.

Henry and his wife Shannon share ownership of the bay filly (as Trevor Henry Stables Inc.) with the Estate of Daniel J. McCann while Richard Moreau handles the training duties.

Angies Lucky Star has hit the board in all of her stakes this season, including the Casual Breeze, Elegantimage and last week's Gold Series event at Mohawk Racetrack. Her seasonal purse earnings now stand at $192,316.

Moreau also won a later division with Orderingin going from Grassroots to Gold champion with a 1:57.2 pylon-skimming score in rein to Sylvain Filion.

Orderingin advanced from third to first as the field rolled by the opening quarter mark in :29-seconds. She then gave way to favourite Princess Lilly (Mario Baillargeon) through middle splits of :57.3 and 1:26.3 before slipping up the inside down the stretch to prevail by one length. Princess Lilley stayed for second while second choice Choir Robe (Rick Zeron) finished third.

The Majestic Son filly, who was sent postward as the 5-1 third choice on the toteboard, is owned by Furious Farms along with Jean, Yvan, and Normand Mondoux.

The other division went to Motown Muscle, who cruised through fractions of :29.1, :59.4 and 1:29.1 en route to a 1:57 two and three-quarter length score for brothers Mario and Ben Baillargeon. The 1-2 favourite was followed under the wire by Brenway Dixie (James MacDonald), with Swishnflick (Randy Waples) trailing nine and a half lengths behind in third.

Owned and bred by Bet Max Stables Inc. and Benenati Inc., the daughter of Muscle Mass was also a Casual Breeze winner at the end of May and has earned top three finishes in the SBOA Stakes and her previous Gold division.
