Crick Celebrates First Training Win
Local 21-year-old trainer Devann Crick celebrated with her first career win on Saturday at Alberta Downs courtesy of a wire-to-wire effort by her pacer Hey Scoob.
Making his sixth start for Crick, the five-year-old gelding established a new mark of 1:55.1 while pulling off a 19-1 upset in the eighth race for $4,000 claimers. Brad Watt drove the son of Four Starzzz Shark to the two length victory over favourites Bomber Brown and Passing Breeze.
Hey Scoob, who has earned half of his six wins this year, returned $40.20 to his backers.
