Milestone On Horizon For Davis
It was supposed to be a feat that would cap off his 2008 driving campaign, but good things come to those who wait.
Bill Davis, the upper echelon Western Canadian-based horseman, expected to notch his 5,000th career driving victory some time in late December at Fraser Downs. Poor weather prompted Fraser to cancel many of its late-December programs.
Davis sits with 4,996 wins in the bike heading into Fraser's live card scheduled for Friday, January 9.
"I probably would have got it Boxing Day," Davis was quoted as saying in an article in the Vancouver Province. "We had seven entered Boxing Day, but they had to cancel the card after three races."
