Six Pack For Titan Park
The streak is now six and counting for the photogenic trotting gelding Titan Park, who nabbed a narrow victory on Sunday evening at Flamboro Downs to keep his perfect record intact since joining forces with trainer Shane Arsenault.
Titan Park, who was paired up with driver Scott Coulter, was asked to front-step his way through fractions of :27.3, :56.4 and 1:27 before fighting off a late challenge from A Work In Progress, who was second best in the 1:58 performance. Balance Spur was third.
Brittany Arsenault of Freelton, ON holds the papers on the six-year-old son of Credit Winner, who is now a 27-time winner in his career. He boasts $144,069 in lifetime earnings.
Titan Park was part of a perfect night at the office for trainer Arsenault, who went 3-for-3 on the 12-race card. The high percentage horseman also clicked with Roan Star (1:59.4) and Toystar (1:57.2).
In the very next race, Donegal Gerald knocked off heavily favoured Stormaway en route to taking home weekly bragging rights in the $13,000 Preferred Pace for trainer Dave Matson and driver Tony Kerwood.
Kerwood got away fourth with the five-year-old son of Rambaran before slipping off the rail and latching onto second over cover as the field moved into the final turn. Match Bayama, who threw down splits of :27.2, :56.1 and 1:24., was swarmed by a number of backfield threats including Donegal Gerald, who pulled off the 12-1 upset in 1:54.3.
Stormaway did the first-over work in the final half of the mile before getting collared by the rival that rode his cover. Stormaway was second while Real Nice tagged along to finish third
John Foran of Newmarket, ON holds the papers on the five-year-old son of Rambaran, who went 7-for-32 in 2008. The 15-time winner has banked $132,515 to date.
