ORC To Hold Emergency Hearing
On Wednesday, June 26, the Ontario Racing Commission issued a Notice of Hearing in regard to Creampuff MacDaddy, who is currently entered to race in an Ontario Sires Stakes Gold Series event at Mohawk Racetrack this Friday (June 28).
According to the Notice of Hearing, Creampuff MacDaddy returned a positive test result for the Class 2 drug ractopamine after a June 10 race at Mohawk Racetrack. In turn, the ORC suspended Creampuff MacDaddy for 90 days (June 20 to September 17, inclusive).
The connections of Creampuff MacDaddy then filed a Notice of Appeal in regard to the suspension, requesting a stay until such time the appeal can be heard. The executive director of the ORC has denied the request for stay.
The ORC will hold a hearing with respect to the request for stay on Thursday, June 27.
Trot Insider will update the story when the ORC sheds more light on the situation.
