Saturday's Baby Race Bonanza
The richest trotting yearling from 2012 is set to make his qualifying debut on Saturday morning, although you might not recognize him by name.
On Saturday morning at the Meadowlands, Trixton - who sold as Monarch Kemp - will be in-to-go for trainer Jimmy Takter and owners Brixton Medical Ab of Sweden and Christina Takter of New Jersey. The son of two O'Brien Award winners as Canada's Horse of the Year - 2009 Horse of the Year Muscle Hill and 1994 Horse of the Year Emilie Cas El - will have Yannick Gingras at the lines in the fifth qualifier.
First-crop stallion Muscle Hill also boasted the highest priced yearling trotting filly of 2012, Deepdish. That daughter of Pizza Dolce sold for $320,000 and will make her second start of the year for trainer Jonas Czernyson and driver David Miller in the sixth qualifier of 18 at the Big M.
In total, The Meadowlands will feature 18 baby races on Saturday. To view the entries for Saturday, click one of the following links: Saturday Qualifiers - Meadowlands Racetrack -- Program Pages - Meadowlands Racetrack.

Jody Jamieson gets the call on the colt, leaving from Post 2 in the fifth qualifier.
Among the debuting colts not sold at auction last year is West Coast Rocker, a Rocknroll Hanover brother to 2012 North America Cup champion Thinking Out Loud. The same connections - trainer Bob McIntosh and driver Randy Waples - are also involved with West Coast Rocker, going postward in Qualifier 12 from Post 4.
