Big And Little Repeats; Five For Miller
Looped from the gate, Big And Little persevered, made the front before the quarter and had little trouble disposing the field from there, capturing his second straight in Monday’s $18,000 Preferred Handicap Trot at The Meadows.
Big And Little set the track record of 1:52.4 for older geldings last week but was stranded Monday when he tried for the early lead, passed by two horses who left outside him. He found another gear for Brian Zendt and notched an easy score in 1:53.1. The first-over No Doze was second, three lengths back, while Run And Tell Pap found late racing room for show.
Bill Zendt trains Big And Little, a five-year-old son of SJs Caviar-Penn Peachi Lane who has won five of nine starts this year, for owner/breeder Gary Saul.
Brett Miller drove five winners on the 15-race card.
