Quebec's Ouellet Retires From Driving
Quebec horseman Serge Ouellet, 53, went out a winner Sunday at Hippodrome 3R in the sulky of three-year-old No Pan Intended filly Sam Alexis, which he trains and co-owns.
Sam Alexis paced to a three-length victory in the slop in 2:02.2.
“You have to know when it’s time,” Ouellet told the Quebec Jockey Club.
It was victory No. 1,692 for Ouellet, a Montreal-based driver for most of his career.
Ouellet's biggest win came with Fiorello Blue Chip in 1989 in the final of the inaugural Berry’s Creek Pace the Meadowlands Racetrack.
